Tea, Coffee or a Gun?

Tea, Coffee or a Gun?

I love this conversation – got it during a training on Image and grooming (go figure!).  The topic was – holding your composure, dealing with difficult people a.k.a corporate assholes:

“You look upset.  Do you need a drink?  Water, tea of coffee?”
“No, I need a gun!”

Remember me

Remember me

I shed a tear reading a column on NST today.  It’s about this Kakak named, oh god, apa hah..kak pah ke kak mah something like that la..I’m a terrible reader.  Can’t even remember the name of the subject matter but I do remember the story, though.  It was about this kak who has been so helpful and made a difference in the lives of those around her, especially the younger ones, inc. the writer.  The writer admired her strengths, spirit and big heart.  But the writer also wondered how many of those kids she has helped actually remember this Kak or even cared what happened to her.  Everyone was busy in his/her own world.  She has made these kids part of her life but did these kids make her part of theirs?  This article was written as a tribute to this Kak who died a month ago.  The writer only found out about it a week or a month after.

See, people remember those who have touched their lives.  So if you want to be remembered, go out and touch someone’s life (in a good way, that is!).  But what if those you “touched” don’t return the good deed or just take your kindness for granted?  Not to worry, God works in some weird, mysterious ways.  Your kindness may not necessarily be returned by the same person – what goes around comes around – only God knows when and where it’s coming around from…

Selamat Hari Raya!

Selamat Hari Raya!  Apa nak tulis nih..nothing fancy la about raya.  The usual stuff – balik kampung, balik Sban, visited the relatives.  Tu je la..drive berjam2, stuck in the jam just for some makan.  Well, people would say..jumpa family, sanak saudara.  Well, the thing is my family is already with me.  I live with them.  The saudara mara tu, well, nice to see them again, but doesn’t hurt if I don’t.  To me family are the people who are closest to me – so they can be just friends or neighbors or colleagues but if they are really close, they feel like family.  What’s the point of blood relations when we hardly have anything to say to each other?  Dah la..better not write anymore before I sound so anti-raya or anti-sanak saudara.  The truth is raya is no biggie for me.  People say it’s about balik kampong being with family. Exactly, my family is all here with me in KL!  Don’t even have any pic this year.  Can’t even be bothered to bring my camera.  My excuse, camera tak charge.  My mom was pissed of course – you know la her..the poser!
